Cheltenham College offers day, day boarding and full boarding options for boys and girls aged 13 to 18. The school has a strong full-boarding ethos, with boarding life continuing throughout evenings and weekends. Its 11 houses, including two dedicated day houses, are located around the campus and provide close-knit communities where pupils of different ages build friendships, support one another and develop a strong sense of belonging.

Full boarders live at College throughout term time, while day boarders have their own bed and can stay for a minimum of two nights each week. Day pupils are also part of the house community and can participate in the same academic and co-curricular activities, with occasional overnight stays available by arrangement. Each house is led by a resident Housemaster or Housemistress, supported by tutors and matrons who provide a welcoming, family-style environment and consistent pastoral care.
