Boarding
Giggleswick School offers a welcoming and supportive boarding environment from Year 4 (age 8) upwards. Around 65% of pupils board, rising to 80% in the Sixth Form, creating a vibrant and close-knit residential community.
There are seven boarding houses, each with dedicated pastoral staff who provide a ""home from home"" experience. Boarding life includes structured routines, academic support, and access to evening and weekend activities such as sports, trips, and performing arts.
The school offers:
Full Boarding for those staying all week
Flexi Boarding (3 or 5 nights/week) to suit family needs
A strong community spirit, with friendships across year groups
International boarders are well supported, and all students benefit from a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that fosters independence, responsibility, and personal growth.

At Giggleswick School, we are proud to support the Armed Forces community with a commitment that goes far beyond words. We are one of the only independent schools in the UK to pledge the absorption of VAT for both current and future families offering real, long-term value without compromising on quality. With this in place, families in receipt of the Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) benefit from up to 20% savings.

We understand that stability, pastoral care, and a sense of belonging are essential for children from military backgrounds. That’s why our boarding is built around community, continuity, and care. Our pastoral provision is sector-leading, underpinned by a deep understanding of the Armed Forces lifestyle both our Headmaster and Bursar have held senior positions in the British military, and this perspective is reflected across school life.
Our campus, nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, is an exceptional place for young people to grow with acres of space to explore, train, and thrive physically and mentally.
