Campbell College

Founded in 1894, Campbell College is a place where boys are nurtured, inspired, and empowered to be the best that they can be.

Our historic campus provides a safe, vibrant environment for over 1,200 day boys and a close-knit boarding family of 120 students from more than 30 countries.

At Campbell, academic ambition goes hand in hand with exceptional pastoral care. Our pupils excel across GCSE, A-Level, and BTEC pathways, with this year's cohort achieving the best ever results, securing places at leading Russell Group and international universities.

Beyond the classroom, our rich co-curricular life fosters resilience, creativity, and leadership. 2026 has been a landmark year for Campbell sport: alongside winning our historic 25th Ulster Schools’ Senior Cup in rugby, our teams celebrated outstanding silverware victories in the NISFA Danske Bank U16 Schools’ Cup in football and the U18 Schools' Cup / All-Ireland Championships in volleyball. Sport is matched by a thriving creative arts scene across music, drama, and fine art, alongside our renowned Combined Cadet Force. Every boy is supported to find his passion.

Campbell offers boarding families warmth, structure, and an authentic home-away-from-home just minutes from Belfast City Airport. Here, we inspire young men of character, equipped to make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.

Why Choose Northern Ireland?

Northern Ireland is a place worth discovering. Known for its warm welcome, strong sense of community and high educational standards, it offers an outstanding environment in which young people can live and learn.

Belfast is a vibrant and modern capital city that combines opportunity, culture and accessibility, while the wider region offers world-famous attractions, dramatic coastlines and a quality of life that is difficult to find elsewhere. Excellent transport links also ensure that travel to and from the UK, Europe and beyond is straightforward and convenient.

As part of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland boasts an education system with a strong reputation. Pupils here consistently outperform their peers elsewhere in the UK at GCSE and A Level.

Combine this quality education with a friendly, family-orientated community and stunning scenery, and you have a compelling destination for boarding education. Add to the mix the fact that boarding in Northern Ireland remains considerably more affordable than many comparable schools elsewhere in the UK, and it is easy to see why increasing numbers of families are choosing Northern Ireland for their child’s education. It is, quite simply, one of the UK’s best-kept secrets.

Boarding

Boarding is available for boys from Year 8 (aged 11) through to Year 14, and pupils join one of our three Boarding Houses. While each House has its own identity, they operate as one boarding family, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where pupils quickly feel part of the community.

Boarders are fully immersed in the life of the College. They learn alongside day pupils, represent the College in sport and music, take part in clubs and societies, and enjoy all of the academic, sporting, musical and co-curricular opportunities available across the wider school community.

The interaction between day pupils and boarders creates a vibrant and diverse environment where young people learn from one another, experience different cultures, grow in confidence and develop their character.

Above all, Campbell is a community where boys feel they belong.
